Under outdoor high-humidity and salt spray working conditions, stainless steel tamper Torx screws are prone to thread seizure and disassembly jamming after 3-6 months of service. The industry usually attributes the fault to material hardening, while it is mostly caused by mismatched thread fit tolerance, coating oxidation and aggravated adhesion from dry friction. Combined with GB/T5277 metric thread fit national standard, this article defines exclusive thread tolerance for outdoor security fasteners, solving salt spray seizure faults from three dimensions: mass production process, on-site assembly and operation maintenance disassembly.
| Application Scenario | External Thread Grade | Internal Thread Grade | Single-side Assembly Gap(μm) | Matching Coating |
| Dry Environment Of Indoor Cabinet | 2A | 2B | 12~18 | Natural Color Passivation |
| High Salt Spray Of Outdoor Charging Pile | Relaxed 2A+ | Tightened 2B | 22~30 | Thickened Chrome-free Passivation |
1. Thread crest fillet optimization: Polish sharp thread crest during thread rolling to eliminate stress concentration and reduce oxidation adhesion contact area; 2. Differentiated coating thickness control: Thicken outdoor passivation film to 150nm to isolate chloride ion corrosion on thread contact surface; 3. Factory solid lubrication pretreatment: Coat high-temperature resistant dry lubricant on surface to avoid dry friction during assembly.
1. Slight thread seizure: Stand still for 25min after penetrating lubrication at room temperature, disassemble with low-speed reverse force, violent twisting and breaking is forbidden; 2. Severe oxidation seizure: Release seizure via low-temperature thermal shock with temperature difference ≤35℃ to prevent cabinet sheet metal deformation; 3. Recurring batch fault rectification: Uniformly upgrade outdoor thread gap, replace with salt-spray-resistant solid lubricant, ordinary grease filling is prohibited.
